We use cellulose building thermal insulation, a recycled product made from recovered newsprint and other paper (wood fiber) feedstocks. Paper, especially newsprint, represents one of the largest single components of the residential waste stream, and a major disposal problelm for communities throughout the nation. Insulating a typical 1,500 square foot ranch-style home with cellulose insulation productively recycles as much newsprint as an individual will consume in 40 years. If America's new homes were insulated with cellulose, over 3.2 million tons of waste newsprint could be removed from the waste stream every year and put to productive use conserving vital energy resources. This projection is based on 1.5 million new homes with an average area of 1,500 square feet, insulated to R-30 in the attics and R-13 in the side walls.

When more stringent insulation standards, such as those here in the Pacific Northwest, are followed, a significant amount more recyclable material is removed from the waste stream.

Just as significant as its recycling advantage is the superiority of cellulose as an insulating material. Many independent insulation authorities agree that cellulose is the best fiber thermal insulation, and an impressive body of scientific research supports this belief. Studies at Oak Ridge National Laboratory have proven that cellulose is not subject to the convective effects that degrade the actual R-value of other loose-fill fiber insulation materials at low attic temperatures. Cellulose has long been regarded as superior to other fiber insulation materials in sealing the "building envelope" against air infiltration. Blower door tests have demonstrated that cellulose insulation tightened the building 36-38% more than the mineral fiber batt insulation.

Blow-In Insulation Solutions

Heating bills are soaring this winter between 20% and 50% more than what you paid last year; and they may not decline for years to come.

When used in your attic and walls, cellulose will reduce heat loss and air infiltration, ultimately reducing costly fuel bills during the heating and cooling seasons.

Cellulose Insulation resists moisture, reduces noise, and preserves natural resources.

Cellulose insulated homes are energy efficient, fire resistant, quiet and comfortable.

Specifying and installing Cellulose Insulation demonstrates commitment to using environmentally friendly products that conserve resouces by recycling natural materials with minimal energy expenditures, while delivering unsupassed thermal performance. Save on heating in the winter months and cooling in the summer months.

Build-It Green Insulation - The Eco-Friendly Insulation Company!

Cellulose insulation has multiple environmental benefits: Lowest impact on the environment of any major insulation product. Cellulose insulation is produced in a virtually waste-free manufacturing process. Uses up to 90% less energy to manufacture than mineral wool. Made from natural materials, it returns to the earth at end of life. No noxious VOC emissions. New homes insulated with cellulose use an average of 5500 pounds of material that is diverted from landfills. Cellulose Insulation is specially treated for flame resistance.

Use Cellulose Insulation for use in attics, floors, and walls of residential, new construction and re-insulation of existing structures. Cellulose provides outstanding thermal performance, fire-resistance and sound control. Cellulose Insulation provides a better barrier against air infiltration, filling gaps and voids. Consists of 85% recycled content.

Cellulose insulation is inherently the "Greenest of the Green" of insulation materials because of its energy-conservation attributes... Cellulose is a recycled material with low embodied energy that delivers superior installed performance.
